Getting my time back
Today i woke up at 3 pm and even though i went to bed at 1 am last night.
I think there are two major reasons for this First one is me being sleep deprived of the last two days and second one is not dressing properly for winters so when i get up in morning i feel cold and i am not wearing socks so i stay in the blanket for longer and avoid steeping on the cold floor.
After waking up late i got ready and listened to music for 30 minutes or so to get hyped up for day and got some push ups and pull ups in while doing that. I opened my phone and realised that i have spent a total of 1 hr and 41 minutes on youtube music and while i am at it let's me see and write my top 3 used app of today :
- youtube music -> 1 hour 41 minutes
- chrome -> 1 hour 18 minutes
- youtube -> 1 hour 16 min In total i have spent 3 hr and 42 min on my phone.
Seeing this just makes me realise that this is the reason why i am not as good as i could be. These little habits are taking a lot of my time and at the end of my day i have a very little time left for work or learning something new.
I believe i have to follow some rules that helps me getting my time back. If i look closely in my routine i can say with confidence that i spend a lot of time on social media (youtube , x for me ) and listening to music. now there are some things that i can absolutely stop which will help me get my time back and some of them are :
- Saying no to watching any podcast or movie , shorts or reading/listening to a book
this tip is so helpful cause it will save me so much hours of movies and podcast
- Don't watch anything that you don't like this will be a tricky one to master and implement but i set my heart straight that if i don't like something , i don't like it. I don't have to pretend to like it just cause the person that has developed it is nice. I have to tell myself the truth.
One of the easiest example is of today's event of me listening to joe rogan's podcast with scott storch and at the end they played scott's latest track and it was fire in the beginning but by the middle (around 30%) it became from fire to decent but cause i loved scott as a person after watching that podcast i said to myself that i should like this track.
but in complete honest if somebody asked me about this track and i had to be honest then i would say the start is fire and then abbie's voice is incredible but the track is decent for me i wouldn't put it on myself but this is level of honesty that i have to keep with myself if i want to master myself.
so in conclusion i have to follow two rules from tomorrow on
Don't consume any podcast , shorts , movies , books
Don't watch it if you don't like it
